2026 P&A Annual Conference – Elective Session 2.
In this session, Caroline Litchfield and Susan An reflect on what it means to serve as a single woman within the family of God.
Grounded in passages such as 1 Timothy 5, they explore the reality of church as a household—where men and women relate as fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters, and where care for one another is both practical and spiritual. They consider how this shapes the way churches support those who are vulnerable, and how single and married members serve alongside one another.
Drawing on personal experience, they highlight the diversity of single life across different seasons, the opportunities for deep partnership in ministry, and the challenges that can arise when assumptions go unexamined.
This session encourages churches to think carefully about how to live as the family of God—honouring one another, sharing life together, and serving Christ in every season.
