2026 P&A Annual Conference – Elective Session 2.
In this session, Jono Squire and Karen Lawson-Smith reflect on what it looks like to apply complementarian convictions in the realities of church life.
Drawing on their experience at Grace Anglican Church Camden Valley, they explore how complementarianism can be expressed in a growing and changing ministry context. They outline key convictions—men and women as equal image bearers, working together in partnership, with appropriate distinctions in roles—and consider how these shape team ministry, leadership, and training.
Through practical examples, they show how these convictions are worked out in areas such as staff structures, preaching, training pathways, and everyday ministry. The session highlights the importance of clarity, consistency, and ongoing reflection as churches seek to apply biblical convictions in changing contexts.
This is a practical exploration of complementarianism in action—seeking to hold together conviction and wisdom in the work of gospel ministry.
